VACANCY: HORTICULTURE PROJECT WORKER, PART-TIME, **APPLY ON THE
WEBSITE** HOURS PER WEEK, INITIAL **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**-MONTH
CONTRACT

L?Arche Cork are seeking to recruit a Horticulture Project Worker to
develop the garden at our Day Service hub, ?Le Cheile?, to its
full potential. The role involves the initial set-up and maintenance
of the Horticulture Project and sensory garden, as well as engaging
adults with Intellectual Disability (ID) in the Horticulture Project.
The role will be supported by the Horticulture Project Leader, support
staff (as required), and participating day service attendees, and
volunteers. The project will be overseen by an expert in horticulture
and will adhere to bio-diversity principles.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE ROLE:

* To establish, and help maintain, a sensory garden in accordance
with an agreed plan (Note: hard landscaping will be outsourced).
* To develop a vegetable and herb garden for training purposes, and
to supply the planned social enterprise caf? on-site.
* To help support and encourage the participation of adults with
Intellectual Disability in the Horticulture Project, promoting
independence by offering only the required level of support (?just
enough? support).
* To deliver training to adults with ID in aspects of horticulture,
with the support and guidance of the Horticulture Project Leader.
* To help maintain and manage the gardens of the L?Arche
community, off-site, at 5 local locations, with the support of other
staff and/or volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

* Horticulture and landscape maintenance experience.
* Advanced/Higher Certificate in Horticulture preferred.
* Strong organisational skills ? time management, work planning,
and initiative.
* Honed communication and people skills ? active listening and
teamwork.
* Commitment to best practice, to regulations, and to L?Arche
policy, especially regarding safeguarding, upholding confidentiality,
and accountability.
* Some degree of flexibility in response to arising needs.
* Full clean driving licence.
* The post is subject to Garda vetting.

SALARY SCALE: The pay point for this post is **Apply on the
